From 1988 to 1993 initial survey and excavations of the Petexbatun Project were undertaken by Vanderbilt University under the direction of Dr. Arthur Demerest and several Subproject directors.  This lecture will focus on the results of these projects and the findings of more recent excavations by the University of Arizona at Aquatea.  The sites discussed will include Ceibal, Dos Pilas, Aquateca, Punta de Chimino, and Cancun.

He excavated as a crew chief in Guatemala on the Petexbatun Project during the 1993 field season at a Maya site named Quim Chi Hilan near Aguateca. He is a Belize National tour guide instructor for Maya sites and has guided tours in Belize, Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala since 1985.
