Dixon Summer Archaeology Lecture Series

Wednesday, July 12th - 7PM

at the Dixon Library.

Summer Archaeology Lecture Series continues  Wednesday, July 12th, 7pm, Dixon Library.    But it’s Paleontology!!  Dr. Bruce McFadden, Distinguished Professor  at the University of Florida, and Principal Investigator of fossils in the recently completed project to widen the Panama Canal,  will give a talk entitled “New Fossil Discoveries From Panama”.  The Great American Biotic Interchange (GABI) was an important event in which land and freshwater animals migrated between North and South America as Panama rose up from the sea floor and connected the formerly separated continents approximately 3 million years ago.  This is one reason that the  fossil record in Panama is of great interest. See you there.  -Karen C.
